I am the joyful, yet ever distant parent of Three beautiful children. Each of them is dear to me. The youngest my two daughters were eating pure food on a daily basis for most of their young lives until mom and I separated. The youngest, Xyla had not experienced more than a mild nose drip after visiting family in the beautiful countryside. The air, usually clean however frequently dusty, the dirt infested with animal waste bacteria. Great for building the immune system! Now that I do not have daily control over their food ingestion choices, stuffy noses and "colds" are a weekly experience. Family, brainwashed by the popular media misconception of high animal protein intake and what ever is the current fad of bad this or that.
This week while spending intended quality time with my eldest, my son Mathew as I see him choosing to ingest a popular selection of quick foods which are common in most homes in our great US of A. I remembered that knowledge is power and since I appreciate my son's life and love him with all my being,I asked him to take note of every ingredient in each item he chooses to eat that day. At the end of the day we would look up each ingredient and learn what the known effects of each item are.
This created a great ruckus of confusion and frustration. Not the intended outcome! Now, family has their guard up and terror is on the horizon! This was supposed to help give power to him. This would give him the opportunity to never say, as he had the day previous after eating piles of sugar coated snacks, "Ugh! I am sick! I do not feel good!"
After it is all said and done I appreciate all involved for doing their best! So, I will continue with the mission I have been given in this life following the dreams which visit me nightly. Calling daily on the strength of my Lord to trek forward expressing my undying love for my children in every action!

Sustainability LIVE FOODS etc.
Another Way
Many people who have seen The Story of Stuff have asked what they can do to address the problems identified in the film.
Each of us can promote sustainability and justice at multiple levels: as an individual, as a teacher or parent, a community member, a national citizen, and as a global citizen. As Annie says in the film, “the good thing about such an all pervasive problem is that there are so many points of intervention.” That means that there are lots and lots of places to plug in, to get involved, and to make a difference. There is no single simple thing to do, because the set of problems we’re addressing just isn’t simple. But everyone can make a difference, but the bigger your action the bigger the difference you’ll make. Here are some ideas:
10 Little and Big Things You Can Do
1. Power down! A great deal of the resources we use and the waste we create is in the energy we consume. Look for opportunities in your life to significantly reduce energy use: drive less, fly less, turn off lights, buy local seasonal food (food takes energy to grow, package, store and transport), wear a sweater instead of turning up the heat, use a clothesline instead of a dryer, vacation closer to home, buy used or borrow things before buying new, recycle. All these things save energy and save you money. And, if you can switch to alternative energy by supporting a company that sells green energy to the grid or by installing solar panels on your home, bravo!
2. Waste less. Per capita waste production in the U.S. just keeps growing. There are hundreds of opportunities each day to nurture a Zero Waste culture in your home, school, workplace, church, community. This takes developing new habits which soon become second nature. Use both sides of the paper, carry your own mugs and shopping bags, get printer cartridges refilled instead of replaced, compost food scraps, avoid bottled water and other over packaged products, upgrade computers rather than buying new ones, repair and mend rather than replace….the list is endless! The more we visibly engage in re-use over wasting, the more we cultivate a new cultural norm, or actually, reclaim an old one!
3. Talk to everyone about these issues. At school, your neighbors, in line at the supermarket, on the bus…A student once asked Cesar Chavez how he organized. He said, “First, I talk to one person. Then I talk to another person.” “No,” said the student, “how do you organize?” Chavez answered, “First I talk to one person. Then I talk to another person.” You get the point. Talking about these issues raises awareness, builds community and can inspire others to action.
4. Make Your Voice Heard. Write letters to the editor and submit articles to local press. In the last two years, and especially with Al Gore winning the Nobel Peace Prize, the media has been forced to write about Climate Change. As individuals, we can influence the media to better represent other important issues as well. Letters to the editor are a great way to help newspaper readers make connections they might not make without your help. Also local papers are often willing to print book and film reviews, interviews and articles by community members. Let’s get the issues we care about in the news.
5. DeTox your body, DeTox your home, and DeTox the Economy. Many of today’s consumer products – from children’s pajamas to lipstick – contain toxic chemical additives that simply aren’t necessary. Research online (for example, http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com/) before you buy to be sure you’re not inadvertently introducing toxics into your home and body. Then tell your friends about toxics in consumer products. Together, ask the businesses why they’re using toxic chemicals without any warning labels. And ask your elected officials why they are permitting this practice. The European Union has adopted strong policies that require toxics to be removed from many products. So, while our electronic gadgets and cosmetics have toxics in them, people in Europe can buy the same things toxics-free. Let’s demand the same thing here. Getting the toxics out of production at the source is the best way to ensure they don’t get into any home and body.
6. Unplug (the TV and internet) and Plug In (the community). The average person in the U.S. watches T.V. over 4 hours a day. Four hours per day filled with messages about stuff we should buy. That is four hours a day that could be spent with family, friends and in our community. On-line activism is a good start, but spending time in face-to-face civic or community activities strengthens the community and many studies show that a stronger community is a source of social and logistical support, greater security and happiness. A strong community is also critical to having a strong, active democracy.
7. Park your car and walk…and when necessary MARCH! Car-centric land use policies and life styles lead to more greenhouse gas emissions, fossil fuel extraction, conversion of agricultural and wildlands to roads and parking lots. Driving less and walking more is good for the climate, the planet, your health, and your wallet. But sometimes we don’t have an option to leave the car home because of inadequate bike lanes or public transportation options. Then, we may need to march, to join with others to demand sustainable transportation options. Throughout U.S. history, peaceful non-violent marches have played a powerful role in raising awareness about issues, mobilizing people, and sending messages to decision makers.
8. Change your lightbulbs…and then, change your paradigm. Changing lightbulbs is quick and easy. Energy efficient lightbulbs use 75% less energy and last 10 times longer than conventional ones. That’s a no-brainer. But changing lightbulbs is just tinkering at the margins of a fundamentally flawed system unless we also change our paradigm. A paradigm is a collection of assumptions, concepts, believes and values that together make up a community’s way of viewing reality. Our current paradigm dictates that more stuff is better, that infinite economic growth is desirable and possible, and that pollution is the price of progress. To really turn things around, we need to nurture a different paradigm based on the values of sustainability, justice, health, and community.
9. Recycle your trash…and, recycle your elected officials. Recycling saves energy and reduces both waste and the pressure to harvest and mine new stuff. Unfortunately, many cities still don’t have adequate recycling systems in place. In that case you can usually find some recycling options in the phone book to start recycling while you’re pressuring your local government to support recycling city-wide. Also, many products – for example, most electronics - are designed not to be recycled or contain toxics so recycling is hazardous. In these cases, we need to lobby government to prohibit toxics in consumer products and to enact Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) laws, as is happening in Europe. EPR is a policy which holds producers responsible for the entire lifecycle of their products, so that electronics company who use toxics in their products, have to take them back. That is a great incentive for them to get the toxics out!
10. Buy Green, Buy Fair, Buy Local, Buy Used, and most importantly, Buy Less. Shopping is not the solution to the environmental problems we currently face because the real changes we need just aren’t for sale in even the greenest shop. But, when we do shop, we should ensure our dollars support businesses that protect the environment and worker rights. Look beyond vague claims on packages like “all natural” to find hard facts. Is it organic? Is it free of super-toxic PVC plastic? When you can, buy local products from local stores, which keeps more of our hard earned money in the community. Buying used items keeps them out of the trash and avoids the upstream waste created during extraction and production. But, buying less may be the best option of all. Less pollution. Less Waste. Less time working to pay for the stuff. Sometimes, less really is more.

Two Horses
There is a field, with two horses in it.
From a distance, each horse looks like any other horse. But if you stop your car, or are walking by, you will notice something quite amazing. Looking into the eyes of one horse will disclose that he is blind. His owner has chosen not to have him put down, but has made a good home for him.
This alone is amazing.
If you stand nearby and listen, you will hear the sound of a bell.
Looking around for the source of the sound, you will see that it comes from the smaller horse in the field.
Attached to the horse's halter is a small bell. It lets the blind friend know where the other horse is, so he can follow.
As you stand and watch these two horses, you'll see that the horse with the bell is always checking on the blind horse, and that the blind horse will listen for the bell and then slowly walk to where the other horse is, trusting that he will not be led astray.
When the horse with the bell returns to the shelter of the barn each evening, it stops occasionally and looks back, making sure that the blind friend isn't too far behind to hear the bell.
Like the owners of these two horses, God does not throw us away just because we are not perfect or because we have problems or challenges.
He watches over us and even brings others into our lives to help us when we are in need.
Sometimes we are the blind horse being guided by the little ringing bell of those who God places in our lives.
Other times we are the guide horse, helping others to find their way....
Good friends are like that... you may not always see them, but you know they are always there.
Please listen for my bell and I'll listen for yours.
And remember...be kinder than necessary- everyone you meet is fighting
some kind of battle.
Live simply,
Love generously,
Care deeply,
Speak kindly....
Leave the rest to God.

Ahhhhhhhh JOY!
Uriel's Message-- The Journey Home
Uriel's Message-- The Journey Home Each of you is on a journey home but that does not mean that you are leaving this planet or plane. Your journey home does not involve your death and return to your spiritual home. It does not involve your abandoning all aspects of the material world, nor does it require that you focus entirely on the spiritual community. Your journey home, at this time, requires you to learn how to connect to the spiritual world from the material and to raise the vibrations of the material world for everyone. Any area in which you are unhappy or feel you do not belong is an opportunity for you to shine your light brightly. This creates a higher vibration and infuses the situation with more spiritual energy. You were placed in the situation for a reason and your ability to transform the energy for yourself allows you to do this work and then move on. When you fall into depression or sadness about these situations you are allowing yourselves to be pulled into the material energy. Depression is not your natural state of being, it is merely a symptom of being in lower vibrations. In times to come you may find yourselves in situations that do not fit or seem right for you. This is part of your journey home, as you are being asked to use your light and share your spiritual knowledge to light the way for others. While your journey is an individual one, each of you has agreed to light the way for everyone and this process will infuse the planet with light and raise its vibrations to remove the veil. Eventually the veil will be lifted and you are part of that process. Your ability to connect with both worlds, to be an instrument for this blending allows this to happen. The task that you have taken is so important to the Shift. As you begin to connect more and more to the spiritual world you may feel a strong desire to return to it, to go home. You can do that but not by leaving this planet. You will create a connection that will allow each of you to experience both worlds, to be in the spiritual and material worlds simultaneously so you can be home in an energy that suits you without abandoning your work. Let your light shine wherever it is directed or needed, be at peace with this process and know that all is unfolding as it should. Welcome the blending of the spiritual and material planes as you prepare yourself and everyone to a new reality of peace, joy and unconditional love. |

Ready? Set... LIVE
The time is NOW! Now is all we have! Tomorrow is a fantasy!
I have been teetering on what my joy in life is. I know that my calling is to create the BEST FOOD on the planet with the BEST Ingredients. Teetering between 99 and 100% PURE, LIVE and Vegan. Today, NOW I am committing myself to keeping the faith. The answers have been given, it is clear as is has been for almost 6 yeasr now that eating FOOD is the best thing for any living spirit in a physical body. OF course there is alwasy an exception to the rule. Jashumeen, thus far you are the only living example of this exception, at least that I am aware of.
So now is the time to share what I have been given to share with our human family. LOVE! I love all living creatures large and small, human and insect. Here is a brief outline of the overall DREAM scape I see building around me.
For a few years now I have been building a collaborative effort of live food chef's. Mostly I have been living in my head and medicating numbing out from the overwhelming feeling of responsability. So to be a true leader I must live what I know, and share what I live. The purpose of the collaborative is to provide healthful options at the lunch line in schools. We have a few schools in the Sacramento area ready to jump on board. Now all else will fall in to place. Food, Funds and Family!
What is the primary goal? Start by making 300 meals a day. Get the ingredients, fuel, packaging and labor donated for our pilot program. The schools who participate in the program get the total amount of the sale to apply toward health education and school garden interactive programs.
Secondary goal! Increase the # of lunches sold each day by 20% annually until each school in surrounding areas hit peak. Starting with Charter, semi-private and private schools. The cost of food production and distribution is to be subsidised by; a.) donation from local farmers 2nd's b.) 20% of 1/4ly profits from all Collaborative LLC venues c.) Fundraisng by NPO for the school lunch program d.)volunteer hours worked by parents and caring community members at the central kitchen and/or farm.
There is much work ahead mostly organizing and completing the actions for the plan ahead. We will seek corporate sponsorships, and angel donations of time and money are all priceless. The e-mail set up on our website is schools-at-synergychef.com So that anyone sho has love of anykind to share with our group effort it an be directed there.
All for now!
Will keep a post going as often as there is a thought or progress to share. Foremost, Thank You for all th elove and support which has brought us to this point of living in this tiem of Now so many inspirations of LOVE!
